With Thanksgiving approaching, Turkey Pride was at an all time high. We had experience, youth, power & hitting to back squad of veterans & promising rookies.  In the opener against the dreaded Jakarta Beerhunters, some costly miscues in the early innings had the sud seekers sporting a 7th inning  11-7 edge.  Veteran leadership took over as : Young – M. Flynn- Boyd –Winkle-  Meyers-Powell  all had consecutive hits to pull out an impressive 12-11  triumph. Our gravy boat runneth over.

Reality though, is a harsh mistress….. Our next game was an uninspiring effort vs  very beatable Tilac which saw us on the losing end of a  12-2 decision.  Mike Flynn’s 2nd inside the park HR in 2 games was  the highlight.  On to our perennial indomitable foe, The Fatt Boyz.  This group of Gobblers were not intimidated by The Fatt Boyz   titles, records or girth.  We took leads into the 5th & 6th innings until ultimately falling  18- 14 in 9 innings.

This team saw the emergence of future league stars : Jack Guest (KEG), Kevin Donahue (CANTOR) & Kirk Stokes (KEG) who continually got it done on & off the field. Special acknowledgement goes to our infield : Boyd, Hasbun ,Winkle & Powell who played every inning of every game & deserve  a purple heart for their play.

No titles this time, but Turkey Pride remained in tact !
