Off Season Moves

Check out who's moving where this off season!

There is general agreement that last year was one of the most talent laden seasons in HKSPA history.  A booming economy coupled with great leadership brought in a host of new talent to the league.  This year looks to be no different as several stalwarts return to Hong Kong and a slew of guys have chosen to change teams.  As always it's been an interesting off season!  The following is a breakdown of what we know thus far.....

Bill Wiswell to Bulldog's- The Doggies never rest on their laurels!  Fresh off of back to back finals appearances the Dogs solidify what has to be the best outfield in Hong Kong.  From left to right it will be Zaleski, Wiswell, Mabardy and Mikosh.

Joe Duke to Brew House- With a line up already stacked from top to bottom the addition of Dukie makes the Brewski's downright deadly!  Consistently one of the best hitters in the game Dukie will move into the five hole and give the Brew House a much needed right handed bat to complement Daren Plested.

Josh Zeigler to The Keg- For two years the Tree was mired in the bottom of the Brew House line up.  With a chance to show case his skills at the top of the line up he will unquestionably be a likely candidate for breakout player of the year!  He will also be making the switch back to infield which has always been his preference.

Eric Wu to The Keg- Preston P. Powell III scores yet another knock out blow by stealing Wu away from Santa Fe!  The youngster is rangey in the outfield and carries an awefully mean stick!  The Keg is door mats of the league no longer my friends.....

Dean Croy Returns to Hong Kong and Santa Fe- Good Bye Dukie, good bye Wu, hellllooo Dean Croy!  Don't feel to bad for the Movers, one of the top three players in the game returns to Santa Fe and puts on the Santa Fe uni.

Alastair McIntyre to The Keg- Big Al returns to his team of origin- The Keg!  Steady and great in the club house Big Al will be a steady influence to the young pups.

Troy Decoff returns to Hong kong and Outback- It's been a while since he's played in the league but for those of you that don't remember this dude is a flat out stud!  The Men From Down Under have helped themselve's tremendously with the addition of Decoff.  A rangey outfielder with a hose of an arm he will be the instant clean hit up hitter in a line up that needs another big bopper to protect Rob McSwain.

John Kelly Returns to Hong Kong and Sportview- A mainstay with this franchise for many years JK comes back and moves right into the heart of the Sportview line up.  He will hit for average with good power and make the young men of Sportview even better this year.

Tony Barnes signs with Sportview- This will be Tony's first year playing in the HKSPA in quite a while.  A solid stick and a good athelete Barnes is a nice pick up for the young men of Sportview.

Mac Returns to Hong Kong and Sportview- Well, actually he never even left!  We tried to have a huge going away party but that couldn't even get rid of him!!  It will be nice to look up in the bleachers and see Mac chuggin' away!

Craig James comes back to Bulldog's- Word on the street is that Mikosh has agreed to play the role of Eric Dickerson in this version of "The Pony Express"!  Last year Craig got hurt after showing a lot of early promise.

As usual there are several unconfirmed rumors this off season.  They are as follows....

Chad Boyd to California- The latest word we have is that Chad will be back with Bulldog's playing third but anything can happen.  He has some close ties to the Mexicans on Cali's squad and with the loss of Wiswell they are doing everything they can to get the Talented Mr. Country!

Coop to come back and coach Sportview- Ok so I made this one up but does anybody know what ole Coop is up to??

So there it is!  It looks as though each team has made significant improvements this year and it anybody's game!!  We will be starting the season September 29th.  Schedule to be posted soon....
