Santa Fe Reclaims Title!

The 2005 Santa Fe team was the text book Santa Fe team- timely plays on defense and timely hits on offense were always enough to rip the heart out of hopeful opponents!    With 2005 being Derick McEachern's last year in Hong Kong the Movers entered the playoffs focused on sending the legendary 3rd baseman out with a championship.

After a relatively easy first round victory against Coyote (current day California) the Movers moved on to face last year's nemesis Stormy Weather (current day The Keg).  With ample motivation after last year's championship final blowout the Movers avenged the prior year's loss and moved through to the winners bracket where they would meet a tired Slappa team (current day Hong Kong Brew House).  Despite having already played a grueling game just to get to the finals the gritty Slappa team surprisingly found themselves down 2-1 in the 6th inning of a hotly contested championship game.  That's when Johnny Spectacular (John So) took over!  With the bases loaded and two outs Slappa's Steve Flach crushed a ball up the middle only to be robbed by a diving Spectacular and thus crushing any hope Slappa may have had.  For the Movers it was there 11th championship in 14 years  and once again stamping their dominance over the league!
