Holiday Cheer

Twas two weeks before Christmas, when all the through site,

Not an update was stirring, not even a stat correction insight.

The standings are stale and the schedule, no care,

We hope that Meyers will soon put SOMETHING new up there.

The Bulldog players are nestled all snug in last place,

With visions of the Wanch dropping games at a fast pace.

And Santa Fe in the pink jersey, with beers all around,

Hope that the McSorleys guys are finally Kings Park bound.

When out on the field Liberty’s players argued until lathered,

Every single call like it really mattered.

Up to the stands the Brewhouse guys flew like a flash,

Tore open their bags and lit-up some hash?!?

Meyers and his Chi-mates have been working the lumber

While everyone else’s bats are on slumber.

When what to our drunken eyes should appear,

But the Doghouse crew with another round of beer!

With little white shorts, and a red-headed ‘do,

We knew in a moment it must be St. Loo.

More stumbling then waking along he came,

And he slurred and he shouted at his cohorts by name!

“Now Dirty! now Noonan! now Willet and Jimmy!

On Tmac, on Harrison! On Andy and Dukie!

To the top of the stands! To the right field wall!

Now hit away! Swing away! Dink away all!”

He sprang onto the field, low arcing meatballs for all,

And away the splinters flew, as the bat met the ball.

We all heard him say, as the batter flew out to right,

“Merry Christmas to all, and pass me another Coors Lite!”
