King's Park Update

It's been a long summer and while the rain may have helped the resevoirs fill back up and lessen the polution just a little, it's wrecked havoc with our upcoming season. Due to the biblical 40days of rain we had back in May/June/July our field reconstruction is running significantly behind.

Before construction started, we were told that the field would be ready by September 1st. As we all know, that date has come and passed. The last date estimate I've been able to get from the construction manager (who hasn't responded to a single e-mail or phone call) is November 1st.

Many of you are are interested in hearing more about the current construction, but unfortunately I don't have any of the answers. But you can see from the pics that they're still in the process of sinking the concrete anchors for the rugby goals and light poles. The retaining wall running down our right field has been completely refurbished. Also, the apartment complex in right field is in the process of coming down. I'm not sure what the implications of this will be right now but  I'll continue to pound on doors and try to get something. In the mean time check out the picture gallery link below this.
